Players on the roster from the most recent tournament the national team played in, The Copa America

Forwards: Diego Forlán (Atlético Madrid, ESP), Luis Suárez (Liverpool, ENG), Edinson Cavani (Napoli, ITA), Abel Hernández (Palermo, ITA), Sebastián Abreu (Botafogo, BRA).

List above also tells you what team each player plays for. As you can see some of the players play for impressive teams such as Athletico Madrid, Liverpool, Napolia, Milano and Fc Porto. In 2009 Diego Forlan came in first with 32 goals in the La Liga, one of the best leagues in the world. Edinson Cavani scored 26 goals last year in Serie A, the third best league in the world. Another player Luis Suarez transferred to Liverpool located in the Barclays Premier League, the best league in the world. Suarez is now considered a top five striker in the league. Many other players on the Uruguay national team are doing equally well on their teams. This shows Uruguay's soccer influence across the global, producing some of the best players in the world. I don' think their is another country with as much talent as Uruguay's National team has.

The Past can make the Future Great

The Uruguay national soccer team has been one of the best teams in history. Uruguay has won the Copa America 15 times a record, including their most recent win 2010. They also have won the world cup two times. They hold the record of 20 for most international titles won. Uruguay only has 3.5 million people. For their size it is an amazing feat that they have won so many games. Think about this, the state of Connecticut has population of 3,574,097 and Uruguay’s population is 3,510,386. Although alot of their titles were won in the past, they won the Copa America in 2010 and made it to the semifinals in the world cup, a great accomplishment. Everybody roots for the underdog they are technically an underdog so you should root for them. However, their national team soccer history makes them one of the greatest national soccer history ever; in my opinion the greatest.
